Tevon Johnson and Nasia Battle, both of Brooklyn, were arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 12, after Wilton Police were notified by Westport Police that two men in a black Honda were attempting to use fake $100 bills at gas stations, said Capt. Robert Cipolla of the Wilton Police Department.
According to Cipolla, shortly after receiving the notification, a clerk at the Gulf Station on Danbury Road, called police to report the two men had just attempted to use a fake $100 bill.
Officers flooded the area and the car was located at Wheels, also on Danbury Road, with a man inside attempting to use fake $100 bills, Cipolla said.
Officers talked with the driver, Battle, and Johnson, who was the passenger, as he left the store.
A search found that both men were in possession of several fake $100 bills and were arrested, police said.
Both were charged with forgery and larceny. Battle was also charged with driving without a license.
Both are being held on a $15,000 bond.
